Nabrangpur, Odisha
M’s house was well built with a large yard in the front used to store their relatives’ bundles of paddy tied with string, waiting to be processed further. Only two people, M and his wife, lived in the house. There was also room for a cattle shed and a meticulously constructed cooking station. M and his wife grew crops on the small patches of land adjacent to their house, as well. Their water supply was provided to them by the village anganwadi (child care) centre only one door away.
