No Children
“I think I am somewhere in between rich and poor. I can’t categorize myself as either rich or poor. Because I have a monthly income, I am able bodied. I have some intelligence. So how can I be poor? To be poor means there is no means at all. With no people to support, no money, no income. So no, I don’t think I am poor.”
T lived with his wife, D, and their daughter. D recently started working at a primary health centre as a member of their contract field staff to help pay back the loan they took to build their house. They were part of several living arrangements over the years: they lived with T’s parents to keep expenses down until his brother got married, when they moved out his parents came with them to their new house, and since his mother’s death, T’s father had been living with his older brother. T was grateful to his parents, who had taken good care of him and his brothers and often bought clothes for their grandchildren. He hoped to support his only daughter in a similar way and help her live a good life.
